Well yes and no
The human body creates energy from food by breaking it down in the stomach with acid and enzymes, turning it into glucose which is then absorbed into the body and released into the bloodstream giving you energy.
Espresso contains zero calories so will give the body zero energy, unless you have sugar with your Espresso which will give you a few calories and a short burst of energy.
But an Espresso will wake you up, and enough caffeine will keep you awake and fool your body into thinking it’s not tired. The caffeine in Espresso helps prevent the build-up of Adenosine in your body, the compound that tells your body your tired when enough Adenosine builds up its time to sleep.
Caffeine has the pleasant effects of increasing oxygen to the brain, increasing your heart rate and concentration which in turn makes you feel like you have more energy.
So even though Espresso doesn’t provide any real energy, it will make you more energetic.
